Vintersorg shows some nice vocal range on this track, which is good since his snarl kind of sucks in this song.

Vintersorg's first 3 recordings were exclusively in his native Swedish tongue, with the past two records adding English into the mix for about a third to half of the songs.
One other thing to mention is that Vintersorg's vocals are rarely that deep sound he made his mark with on previous albums.
Vintersorg's new sound is an odd mix of progressive and, well, astral is the only way that I can describe it.

 BNR Metal Pages -- Vintersorg
Vintersorg's midrange vocals are unique (the closest comparison might be Dan Swano's clean/non-death style), he is a fine vocalist and a very good songwriter, as the songs have none of the self-indulgence one might expect from a one-man band.
The band eventually folded, but Vintersorg (the man) decided to continue with some of the band ideas, and so Vintersorg the band was born.
The origins of Vintersorg the band come from a band called Vargartron in 1994.

Vintersorg, the project, is a mix between folkish elements, classic metal riffing (of which Vintersorg, the guitarist, has many in his songwriting arsenal), clean and rasped vocals, and minor orchestration effects.
Whatever else you can say about Vintersorg, the guy can put together an album's worth of songs that flow well, continually give the listener a feeling of progression and become memorable in a hurry.
All in all, this Vintersorg EP is a nice foray into what I call Gray Metal (not black metal by common definition, but having a lot of elements of the style) and recommended.

Produced by Vintersorg and Nils Johansson, the album featured the guest musicianship of Vargher (keyboards), Cia Hedmark (vocals on Svältvinter and violin on Månskensmän), and Andreas Frank (lead guitar on tracks 1, 5, 8, and 9).
Vintersorg's passion for folk music became obvious with this release, as with the follow up, Ödemarkens Son (1999).
Recorded during different periods, late 1997 and beginning of 1998 in Spiff Studios and Wolf's Lair, the album was engineered by Vargher (Wolf's Lair), Johny Mikaelsson and Vintersorg (Spiff Studios), mixed by Ford Berglund and Vintersorg, and mastered at Ballerina Audio by Nils Johansson.

The guitar work is excellent, Vintersorg’s harsh vocals are awesome, and good riffing and drumming lay the foundation for a welcomed guitar solo.
The typical Vintersorg pattern of a fast pace song component aligned to Vintersorg’s harsh vocals which then breaks off into a slower, more melodic chorus and clean vocals is also a pattern employed often by Fission.
