 Rough Edge: Vehemence CD Reviews
For a second full-length album it seems Vehemence have got their shit together and are likely in the music business for the long haul.
Vehemence manages to mix brutal death, melody, and songwriting chops into a blend of metal that reaches beyond the limitations of death metal.
Vehemence, in addition to their brutal, grinding death metal assault, use acoustic guitars, keyboards, and synthesizers to round out their unique sound.

Vehemence - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Vehemence are a Phoenix, Arizona-based band with melodic death metal, brutal death metal and Hardcore influences.
Long-time vocalist Nathan Gearheart left the line-up in 2005 and was replaced by former From a Second Story Window singer Sean Vandegrift, a change that put the band into a more Hardcore-fused direction.

Vehemence - Helping The World To See sputnikmusic
Vehemence is one of those bands who are able to add very melodic aspects to their music, and not at the sake of their overall heaviness.
Vehemence: Nathan Gearhart (vocals); Bjorn Dannon (guitar, piano); John Chavez (guitar); Mark Kozuback (bass guitar, background vocals); Andy Schroeder (drums).
Vocalist Nathan Gearheart also brings a bit of variety to the band's sound, as he mixes up guttural growls with mid-ranged screams.

 Vehemence - God Was Created
Vehemence is not your typical death metal band.
Vehemence's artwork might let you expect gory death metal, but their music is quite technical, nearly progressive, and remind a bit of Nocturnus, although Vehemence sound less spacey and more traditional metal oriented.
Vehemence's debut is a really cool piece of music that's fast, brutal, technical and intelligent as well.

 Hellride Music
Vehemence aren't your standard kick-ya-in-the-nuts-right-from-the-start brutal death band, and they aren't exactly your Maiden-esque melodic death band.
For the first 15 seconds of first track "Made For Her Jesus" I thought for sure the presser screwed-up and pressed an acoustically-laced Ricky Martin CD or summat.
I even hear a progressive vibe in the arrangements, both in the guitar work of John Chavez and Bjorn Dannov and in Jason Keesecker's piano and synth arrangements.

Vehemence - Helping The World To See - review
Vehemence follows up their powerful debut album "God was Created" with this little bit of death metal that is close to being plain perfect.
While I admit that perhaps there could be a little more innovation in the song structures, I think that it must be taken with a grain of salt considering the sheer volume of death metal releases as of late.
While I have always been an avid death metaller, I don't deny that I've been bored recently by most of the new death metal releases, mostly becuase of their lack of inspiration, innovation, and sometimes even a lack of technical precision.

Vehemence rather chose to spice it's own brand of Death Metal with a touch of Swedish Melodic influences and crashing waves of dark and grim lyrical aggressivity.

Vehemence was an Arizona-based death metal band on the Metal Blades roster, releasing three albums in their career.
The second of the three, 2002's God Was Created, is an accomplished technical yet brutal death metal album, rooted firmly in the old-school American style but also featuring a few nods to bands like Opeth in the form of the odd acoustic passage and some slick dischordant guitar melodies.

The masterstroke comes in Vehemence's understanding of restraint and subtlety in the music, to let the lyrics tell the twisted story.
As if to prove my point, sicko "She Never Noticed Me" begins with an acoustic guitar flourish that dissipates into compressed thrashing guitars overlaid with beatific synths and piano that seem to pay the ensuing carnage no mind.
