The Time (band) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The band went on to release four albums during the course of their main career, each a solid slice of jammy, rock-infused 80s funk, generally light and humorous in tone, strongly influenced by Parliament - and, of course, Prince.
The original lineup of the band united for the Graffiti Bridge movie and soundtrack, as well as a new album - Pandemonium.
The reunion was short-lived, however and the band broke up once again.

Thursday declares War All the Time - Insider
Thursday is a band whose combination of violence and grace is evidenced by seamlessly melding crunching guitars, pulse-pounding drums and frenetic vocalizations while also being capable of the occasional stripped-down song that perfectly balances out their hardcore tendencies.
War All the Time shows the band has deftly made the move from the independent Victory Records label to the recording industry giant Island without sacrificing the hardcore sound that differentiated them from other bands in the crowded emo field.
But while most bands in the emo genre focus lyrically on the heartbreak of relationships with a stunning lack of, ironcally, emotional authenticity, Thursday differentiates itself both musically and lyrically.

Dispensing with his band (a drummer, saxophonist and female vocalist are credited) for a harder-edged solo effort, Johnson uses Every Shade of Love to show off his Hendrix-influenced guitar work.
The accomplishment of leading a ten-piece band (seven instrumentalists and two female vocalists) and ending up with clear, well-organized sound is impressive in and of itself.
The LP features a funky duet with Sly Stone ("Crazay") and a diverse, appealing set of danceable songs with a surprising ending: Johnson sings a message of hope on the touching "Black in America," accompanied only by acoustic guitars, synthetic strings and a small chorus.

Do bigger bands wind all the time - Marching Band Planet
I feel ya, man. Our band is going to have between 50-60 people in it this year (and that's a new record), and will include 7th through 12th graders, and last year, we actually had a couple of 6th graders marching.
We don't have any HUGE 300+ people bands over here but there is not much chance of a small band overthrowing the "big" bands, all of which rest comfortably in the upper 100's to lower 200's.
I suppose when you roll into a show with powerhouse programs and you are a smaller band, it might seem like the big bands are doing all the winning...I can't imagine what that might feel like though (except when one school likes to take EVERY caption award and first place at their own homeshow).

Time, the Time Beings' self-released debut CD, falls in the latter group.
Time lags during the MC5's "Future," a selection on which you'd expect a guitar-heavy band like these guys to reach their peak.
Released almost two decades after the group's formation, the disc is just what you'd expect from a band who wouldn't be embarrassed to admit Keith Richards is their spiritual stepfather.

Corporate Entertainment - Morris Day and The Time booking information
By creating THE TIME, Prince was able to continue on the path of his 1980 album "Dirty Mind" and explore other musical genres that would not label him as a RandB artist.
Alexander O'Neil later released more than 10 albums and collected three gold records - THE TIME released only 4 albums but got three gold and one platinum.
Part of Prince's incentive for involving [Morris Day] in THE TIME was to repay him for the use of his track "Partyup" on Prince's 1980 album "Dirty Mind".

All these bands, I mean Angra, Blind Guardian and so on, follow our songs' concept, by the way they don't understand what's hidden behind, the feeling of the songs: in practice they copy what they don't understand.
MW: Substantially, they are bands that kept our sound structure, but they are not able to create evergreen melodies.

THE METAL OBSERVER - Review - HELLOWEEN - The Time Of The Oath
The title song shows a new side of the band, the verses and choruses are dark sounding and have some chanting in Latin, a positive surprise indeed.
The song writing is better this time, the songs have better melodies, there’s more punchiness and, well, the songs are just better and Andi sounds better than he did on “M.O.T.R”.
I don’t need to tell you about playing skills, the band is very tight and have gained a lot of experience through their long career, drummer Uli Kusch plays on an energised level throughout the album and the guitars, although classic HELLOWEEN signature, are heavier and rougher than normal.
