In fact, her voice continued to appear on Supremes album tracks for the rest of the decade, as many of the album cuts were sourced from archived recordings.
Although the Supremes did not like the idea of recording a second-hand song, they didn't feel they had a choice, given their track record.
Their first release was an album for the U.S. based Altair label titled Supreme Voices, which was recorded in the U.S. for producer Rick Gianatos.

In the end, The Supremes are fondly remembered by most of us as a part of Motown's golden years, when they turned out hit after hit and kept the world dancing and singing their songs.
Diana Ross and the Supremes released their last song, "Someday We'll Be Together" on October 9th, 1969 and performed their final concert at the frontier hotel in Las Vegas on January 14th, 1970.
The soundtrack of the show made it to the top of Billboard's album charts within a couple of weeks.

The Supremes, a high-flying femme trio with one of the most winning sounds on disks, were only an echo of their selves on the Philharmonic stage.
And, The Supremes were the first female vocal group to chart a Number One album, “Supremes A GoGo,” in 1966.
Actually, what was lacking was the echo of the recording studio and the toe-tapping beat which characterizes their platters.

 THE SUPREMES
As with most Motown acts, the Supremes released three or, maybe, four songs per album, which were worth hearing – depending on your tolerance for tuneful – if not too arty –love songs.
A particular drag on the Supremes career were theme albums like A Bit of Liverpool, The Supremes Sing Funny Girl, The Supremes Sing Rodgers and Hart, The Supremes Sing Country Western and Pop, and We Remember Sam Cooke.
Most of the Supremes best songs were written by Brian Holland, Lamont Dozier and Eddie Holland, and make up the majority of Supremes’ songs that are remembered.

Diana Ross and the Supremes' hits turned out to be both timely and timeless: the rhythm and drama of "You Keep Me Hangin' On" predicted disco's hyperactivity, while "Reflections" and "Love Child" responded to shifting musical and social trends, but maintained the emotional immediacy of the first Supremes hits.

A major obstacle for the Supremes occurred in late 1967, as Holland-Dozier-Holland left Motown to form their Invictus label and the Supremes (and the Four Tops) were left without their hit songwriters.
Over the course of 1962-64, the Supremes released a string of unsuccessful singles, working with different songwriters and alternating lead vocalists.
Ross’s solo career was huge and long-lasting, providing her with major success on record and in the movies for over fifteen years.
