Mudvayne - The End Of All Things To Come
TEOATTC shows the band growing up, dumping the lengthy interludes about mushrooms and giving us a straight 12 track album (with the exception of strange 11 seconds of silence ?12:97:24:99?.
This truly is an album to be reckoned with that lived up to the expectations of LD50, possibly one of the best albums the year has to hold.
Each track is a brutal mix of heavy guitars and psychedelic vocals with elements of melodic genius that drag you in and keep you there until the end.

In their biggest album, L.D. "The overall theme of the album reflects and embodies ideas about the evolution of consciousness, transformation, and the risks involved in experimenting with things that can change a person's point of view, internally and externally," says drummer Spag.

Don't get me wrong, the album is worth a few spins in the CD player but it's just depressing to see a band with so much potential bow down to money and their label.

User Comments for The End of All Things to Come by Mudvayne
The End Of All Things To Come is just the epitome of what an original rock band is supposed to sound like.
MuDvAyNe's lyrical content are real.....they are an adage to what the band has experienced wholistically and individually, it gives their fans the feeling of musical satiety, and allows the first time listener to see with their ears what they are all about.
You would have to be stupid not to like MuDvAyNe or their album, The End of All Things to Come.

Some music listeners purchase albums and listen to music as “background music” – something to hear or put on while doing another activity – not to listen to intensely, but to entertain you during those slow moments in your prime activity.
Yet, Mudvayne knows when and how to slow things down – on many tracks the contrasting of speeds makes the tracks that much more interesting and enjoyable to listen to.
The lyrics do not change, and impact the listener with the same strength and induce the same thoughtfulness.

 BNR Metal Pages -- Mudvayne
They are clearly in the heavier end of the nu-metal spectrum, with vocals alternating between hardcore and melodic and forceful downtuned guitars, as well as some subtle but impressive basswork.
Mudvayne appeared on the worldwide scene in 2000 with one of the most visually striking images in metal and a solid major label debut album in L.D. (following an indie EP from a few years earlier.
They've finally dropped the eccentric visuals altogether as they release their new album Lost And Found.

Blistering.com :: Music :: Reviews :: Mudvayne - The End Of All Things To Come
It’s been some two years since Mudvayne released their highly praised L.D. 50, and while The Beginning Of All Things To End, the re-release of their debut album Kill, I Oughtta was released in 2001, it’s really The End Of All Things To Come that will either sink or keep afloat the Illinois four piece.
‘World So Cold’ and ‘Shadow Of A Man’ shine on the melodic side of things and are certainly amongst some of their better tunes, while ‘Solve Et Coagula’ and the title track come as close as the band have achieved on their previous albums.
Perhaps it’s the straight-ahead, no nonsense approach to the songs that gives the album its “heard it all before” feel.

Mudvayne-The End of All Things to Come Review
One thing I like about The End of All Things to Come is that it didn’t have those irritating trippy bits of space noises in between tracks like L.D. did.
Actually, I liked it even better than their first album (which shows their growth, at least musically), but I hope that someday the band will actually listen to some of the stupid things they say on stage and think before they do more of their poser act.
It can be heard in the background of the photo shoot segment (is that the song they are doing the video for?) The second song, “On the Move,” redeems their hard status.

Most importantly, "The End of All Things to Come" is full of diverse, intriguing songs.
Ru-D's winding, muscular basslines and Spud's complex and rhythmic drum beats would make "The End of All Things to Come" a worthwhile listen even if the rest of the band were inept.
I listen to a lot of progressive music (Rush, Yes, Dream Theater, etc.) in addition to extreme stuff, and while Mudvayne's work certainly isn't the heaviest or most progressive music I've ever heard, it does combine the two elements just enough to make for an interesting listen.

 Mudvayne CD Reviews
The main purpose of Mudvayne's "The Beginning of All Things to End" was to give fans something to chew on prior to the release of "The End of All Things To Come" and to re-release the band's rare 1997 E.P., "Kill I Oughtta." Those purposes are well-served here, however, something else happens as well.

Ok, so what to do: spend the $15 bucks for the disc and hope that there is more than one good track, or download the disc for free and rip off the artist.
This stuff is heavy and well done and there are plenty of good twists to keep each track moving.
I will admit that Mudvayne's debut LD.50 did absolutely NOTHING for me. Except for lead off single 'Dig', this band just sounded like a sonic schizophrenic mess with about as much ability to pen a tune as Helen Keller could scale Mt. Everest.
