| | As the first grunge band to be signed by a major label, Seattle's Soundgarden opened the pop floodgates, and a deluge of thrash-o-rama bands began swamping the airwaves. | | | Yes Badmotorfinger and Louder Than Love ruled; however, Superunknown presented this hugely underrated band to the masses through media acceptance and exposure (mostly do to the three tracks that actual got played in some radio markets and on MTV), yet presented a group synergy and maturity previously unseen/heard. | | | Sure, Chris has never been able to recreate his studio performances live; however, his phrasing, range, power and conviction recorded with Soundgarden (and of course on the understated 1990 Temple of the Dog album) will inevitably place him in the company of the greatest vocalists in rock history. |
