In typical fashion the album opens with a cover of West African singer Angelique Kidjo's composition "Adouma" (from her 1994 album Aye), given a Santana flavor by co-producer Kike Santander.
Far from being a tribute album, SHAMAN is, like the album that preceded it, a wondrous musical journey and, in Carlos Santana's words, "a beautiful example of synchronicity."

Santana - Supernatural (featuring Smooth with Rob Thomas) Album Review @ Music-Critic.com : the source for music ...
This isn’t an all-star album on which Santana happens to be playing backup on every song, it’s a Santana album which happens to have a few other people on it.
It’s not often that an artist who played at Woodstock releases an album in the ‘90s that sounds fresh and new.
For that alone, Supernatural should be commended, but what really makes Carlos Santana’s best album since the ‘70s so good is that rather than resting on his classic rock fame, he has made a brilliant and seamless transition into the ‘90s.

Supernatural Equinox, MP3 Album Music Download at eMusic
And, like the previous album, Supernatural Equinox is something of a mixed bag, with the dark, droning elements occasionally bringing something fresh to the band's venerable sound, but more often than not diluting the spot-on pop sensibilities that Matthew Smith and crew have demonstrated for nearly a decade.
However, most of them tend to outstay their welcome and pad the album to an unwieldily length, detracting from the album's better-written material in the process.
By no means a bad album, Supernatural Equinox nevertheless feels like a transitional one.
