 Songs from the Superunknown
Songs from the Superunknown is an EP album by the grunge band Soundgarden.
Most of the songs are B-sides and previously unreleased songs; the only previously released track is the title track to their previous album, Superunknown.
The music on this disc was taken from the Soundgarden CD-ROM Alive in the Superunknown.

Superunknown - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Superunknown was released March 8, 1994 (see 1994 in music).
The song, and its video, featured Artis the Spoonman, who is a street entertainer in Seattle, and a demo version of the song is used in the movie.
It was the fifth album by the band Soundgarden, their third through AandM Records.

Of the other rockers on the album, "Superunknown" is a psychedelic and uptempo rocker, with an odd guitar riff.
This is a majestic song, a perfect closer to a perfect album.
Almost everyone has heard this song on the radio sometime, and although the lyrics might seem like they don't make much sense, when put against the background of the music they usually have a powerful effect on the listener.

These songs feature at the core of the album, tracks 8 and 9, material that is usually used as an album outro, now creates the illusion that there are two parts to this album.
The nature of songs like 'Applebite' and 'Never Named' suggest that Soundgarden were further experimenting with their 'style', the random and careless organisation of such experimental tracks, on the album, echoes that of Pearl Jam's No Code.
Like Superunknown, their are 16 songs and all are different, unlike Superunkown, most of these are filler and are forgettable.

I love acoustic versions of previously released songs--- as an acoustic guitarist who spends his days reinterpreting hard-rock numbers through a guitar with a hole in it--- and "Like Suicide" is one of my favorite songs ever.
The only song that appears in the same form as it does on Superunknown is the title track, which has long been one of my two or three favorite cuts from that wondrous album.
Songs From The Superunknown is a fun little five-track collection of rarities, album cuts, and alternate takes.

Soundgarden's Superunknown is easily their best album and one of the five best albums of the grunge era.
Cornell's thought-provoking & introspective lyrics and vocals made this song one of the biggest Rock hits of 1994.
Spoonman: Undeniably catchy, "Spoonman" is quite possibly the most recognizale song on the album, as the guitar riff was used in Auto Zone commercials/advertizements.

The album is fast paced, but ocassionally shows a softer side to the band, with songs such as, "She".
This one song, 29 minute album is their masterpiece, with incredible drumming, and a truly brilliant piano solo.
With songs such as the mind-melting "20th Century Schizoid Man", this is an album that both begins and defines many people's interest in prog.

 Willamette Week Music
Songs that contain serious messages (albeit through Love's hit-and-miss lyrics; "He's drunk/He tastes like candy/He's so beautiful" is one egregious misstep) often billow along to breezy rhythms and blossoming guitars.
Probably because several songs were co-written by Billy Corgan--though he receives no credit, not even a thank you, in the liner notes--Courtney sounds more focused and almost miraculously adept at gliding from boisterous choruses to nuanced verses and slipping daintily between the anthemic and the understated.
One exception is "Playing Your Song," a full-on epic rock tune complete with a gratuitous use of that verbal angst additive, "fuckin'."

Wellwater Conspiracy: The Scroll and Its Combinations - PopMatters Music Review
The sound of these songs is taken straight from the mid-'60s trippy fuzz guitar, silly surf bass riffs, and hastily orchestrated harmony vocal parts.
On songs like these Wellwater Conspiracy sound like mere imitators, recreating the sounds of their old bands only half as good.
For the majority of the album, however, Cameron and McBain craft a sound and sensibility borne more out of Pete Townshend than Chris Cornell.
