 SINGLES
Although the song doesn't appear in the movie, DOWN TO YOU, this movie soundtrack contains the first single, "Silver Lining," from THE ROCKFORDS album.
This album is the companion to the Merkinball single.
It has some of the most amazing music created by either band.

 Schallbau / Hildenbeutel / B-Zet / Boutsen - Unofficial Discography
Schallbau created the original soundtrack score to a german movie named "Caipiranha" (you know, all these music that is played and in the background you mostly don't recognize consciously).
Schallbau produced the soundtrack for a German movie named "Und das ist erst der Anfang..." (including a track called "The Moon" by Steve B-Zet and singer Nikola Materne) which was in german cinema in Summer 2000.
It's not available seperately on CD or vinyl, so none of these tracks can be found on the soundtrack CD 3984-24011-...

Singles helped crystallize the idea of the "Seattle scene" in the mainstream public's mind, and it was also one of the first big-selling '90s movie soundtracks (it went platinum and reached the Top Ten) to feature largely new work from contemporary artists.
So Singles isn't just an entertaining sampler of Seattle grunge in its prime; it's a milestone in the breakthrough of alternative rock into mainstream popular culture, neatly and effectively packaging the Seattle phenomenon for the wider national consciousness.
The soundtrack's strength was the way it was so firmly rooted in place -- where future soundtrack extravaganzas simply contrived to gather as many big-name acts as possible, Singles focused specifically on Seattle-area music (quite logically, given the film's plot and setting), which gave the album the feel of a cohesive document.

 Heart
In 1992 their version of Led Zeppelin's "Battle Of Evermore" appeared on the 'Singles' movie soundtrack.
Nancy did record a final single with Heart, the Diane Warren-penned ballad "Strong, Strong Wind", the lone new track on Sony's 1998 "Greatest Hits" release.
The band, which is still an ongoing concern, consists of sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson, their longtime songwriting partner Sue Ennis (keyboards) and Seattle musicians Frank Cox (guitar) and Ben Smith (drums).

 Singles @ Filmbug
Singles is Cameron Crowe's second film in the director's seat. The styles used in his later films (Jerry Maguire, Vanilla Sky etc) are perfected in this movie and his choice of songs on the soundtrack mirror the storyline perfectly - something he did again later in Almost Famous.
Singles is one of my all-time favourite films and I have been waiting for its DVD release for nearly 2 years.
The soundtrack is all Mother Love Bone and Chris Cornell, and it only adds further to the atmosphere of this sweetly romantic movie.

The song was written expressly for this movie, although the song saw light of day on both the Best of 1990 - 2000 album and DVD prior to the soundtrack and movie being released.
This is the third version of the song, as the versions on the album, and on the DVD are both different in sound.
The version featured on the soundtrack is more celtic sounding with the addition of the violin and tin whistle by two of the Corrs sisters.

 The Singles Ward (2002)
The soundtrack was the best part of the movie, but poking fun at the nonsense that goes on in singles wards was also amusing.
This film will do well among Mormondom, especially in college communities where singles ward exist.
The entire film was poorly dubbed and made watching mouths while listening to their voices very irritating.

 The Graduate Soundtrack, 1967
They felt the lack of new material on the album would be cheating their fans, and they were afraid of the competition between a movie album and their forthcoming studio album, more than a year in the making.
A souvenir album of the music was released and it took all of five minutes to top the album charts.
This album was issued at the same time as Bookends, and is invariably treated as a Simon and Garfunkel album even though their contributions are minimal and the songs they sing are available on other albums.

Singles is one of my all-time favourite films and I have been waiting for its DVD release for nearly 2 years.
Crowe is clearly a music lover (indeed, he was once a writer for Rolling Stone) and rather than use songs that are just popular at the time, he chose a number of tracks that had a lyrical relationship with the storyline.

 ‘Singles’ (PG-13)
In fact, the horseshoe-shaped building's courtyard is more crucial to the film than the Seattle clubs; if this were television, the movie's title would undoubtedly be these singles' address.
Crowe has said he envisioned "Singles" as a celluloid album, and like an album, one comes away remembering some parts more fondly than others.
Crowe was a writer for Rolling Stone and other publications from his teen years on, and there are lots of small touches in "Singles" that bespeak his appreciation for rock culture.

The soundtrack to the movie "The Crow" is an excellent soundtrack of cool rock, metal, and alternative tracks made by some of best bands of its time.
The Crow was one of my favorite movies of the 1990s and its soundtrack may be my favorite soundtrack album of all time.
When this soundtrack released, it shocked skeptics by debuting at number one in 1994.

At the time of the movies' release, the songs were released on various EPs and singles; they were also collected on such compilation albums as A DATE WITH ELVIS.
And, in contrast to most Elvis Presley movie soundtracks, the songs adhere closely to the core of what Elvis' music was all about.
Jailhouse Rock includes the soundtracks to the Elvis Presley movies "Love Me Tender" (1956) and "Jailhouse Rock" (1957), and features four previously-unreleased tracks.

"The Singles Collection" (ECM 1383) 1989
I've had several people email me over the years, requesting the name of the album that this tune was on (they'd heard it on the movie "Heat", a movie that seems to have resulted in many new Rypdal fans).
It just always seemed like a "collection" indeed, but not of "singles" so much as of out-takes from the preceding two Chasers albums which I deemed much better at the time.
"The Singles Collection" had never been a Terje Rypdal album that I'd esteemed that highly (relative to his other work).

Mariah Carey returns to her pop and RandB roots on her new album, "The Emancipation of Mimi", albeit with major dollops of hip-hop.

Review: Michael Jackson: Invincible - Return of the Scarecrow
Jackson is of course notorious for releasing "weak" lead singles as witnessed with Thriller's "The Girl is Mine" with Sir Paul McCartney and his "duet" with Siedah Garrett ("I Just Can't Stop Loving You") from Bad, thus "You Rock My World" was not really a surprise.
Co-written by Jackson with Babyface and Carole Bayer Sager, "You Are My Life" so convincingly invokes Jackson's 1972 movie theme "Ben" that one expects to hear the rodent sing-along in the song's weepy chorus.
When the lead single "You Rock My World" was initially leaked to radio, there was much speculation that the single would "disappear" because of lukewarm reception, much the way that lead singles from Maxwell and Usher "disappeared" in the past year.
