Opera (web browser) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Opera 5, released 6 December 2000, was the first version which was ad-sponsored instead of having a trial period.
Opera 7.6 was never officially released as a final version.
The first public release was Opera 2.1 for Windows, released as shareware in 1996 [2].

 Encyclopedia4U - Opera - Encyclopedia Article
In the most traditional type of opera, there are two modes of singing: recitative, which is similar to ordinary declamation, and aria, which refers to sung solo passages.
The singers are accompanied by a musical ensemble, which in some operas can be as large as a full symphonic orchestra.
Wagner also made copious use of the leitmotif (Weber had used a similar device earlier), a musical device which associates a musical line with each character or idea in the story.

 Musical Forms - Opera
New operas continue to be composed; but the expense of staging them and the difficulty of reconciling advanced forms of musical utterance with the requirements of the traditional opera house and its audience have induced many composers to prefer chamber opera or other kinds of music theatre susceptible to concert, 'workshop' or experimental production.
A musical dramatic work in which the actors sing some or all of their parts; a union of music, drama and spectacle, with music normally playing a dominant role.
The rigid separation of recitative and aria was gradually broken down, and virtually eliminated in the Wagnerian music drama, with its 'endless melody' and elaborate system of leitmotifs, and (in a different way) in the final works of Verdi and the verismo operas of his Italian successors, above all Puccini.

 Opera Today
But the rise of "crossover opera", where Puccini meets the pop charts, is set to achieve new heights with three more tenors.
Written when he was 11 years old, Apollo and Hyacinthus affords a better perspective on Mozart's extraordinary musical sensibilities than any historical account of the parading of his prodigious talent round the courts of Europe.
Categorized as a drama, it traditionally has been performed in the oratorio style (i.e., a concert performance).
