Entombed MUSICA.MUSTDIE.RU - The most popular metal music magazine from Russia
ENTOMBED have finalized the track listing for their upcoming Morning Star CD, which is due at the end of August through Music For Nations Records in Europe.
Ten tracks and nearly 60 minutes of music will appear on the CD, featuring a style that the group describe as “the same [one] we previously dominated the world with” on last year’s debut Cybersonic Superchrist.
The band will record 12 or 13 songs, but there are no song titles yet.

 DoE - Biography
But the band were not satisfied with Cacophonous so they now signed with Music for Nations records for their next album.
Included are 24 of the best tracks from their 3 albums and 1 E.P. with Music for Nations, along with exclusive special tracks and mixes.
This was their most musically mature album, with new artwork and another special guest appearance, this time from the 70's horrormovie star Ingrid Pitt (backing vocals on The Twisted Nails of Fate and Bathory Aria).

Music For Nations Records Music Reviews
Let this be a warning to other bands who lack the true convictions for this type of music to not try and duplicate this effort.
The whole album sounds like a attempt to utilize the latest musical trend and try to make it big.

Mikael Akerfeldt to do some side work...
Music For Nations Records will also press up 1,000 copies of vinyl/gatefold-sleeved LPs.
There are currently no plans for the group's last album, "Deliverance", to be released on vinyl, although Relapse Records are said to have shown great interest in putting it out, as have some smaller labels.
Peaceville Records have put out second reissue of the "Still Life" album.

The Ultimate Guitar Resource For Guitarists - Guitar.com
The recording for both albums was seven weeks, and then we mixed Deliverance for ten days, and Damnation, the mellow album, is not mixed yet so thats probably gonna be ten more days.
So we sort of recorded two albums in the same amount of time used to record one, which is a nightmare.
Both albums sound totally great to me; its just that [since we were] recording two albums at the same time it turned out that we had to work twice as hard as we usually do so were never going to record two albums at the same time again.

 Amazon.com: Music: Damnation
The Wilson/Porcupine Tree influences in Opeth's music have a lot to do with *sound* (the guitar tones, vocal harmonies, and vocal recording especially), but Akerfeldt himself is also adopting some of Wilson's singing characteristics.
Martin Lopez understands the needs of the music perfectly, and his hammering death metal drumming is stripped down to something that enhances the music in a more subtly articulate way.
After six albums of establishing connections between the seemingly contradictory genres of extreme metal, folk, and progressive rock, Opeth have finally decided to devote an entire album to exploring their classic folk/prog influences with "Damnation." As such, this isn't a metal album, but Opeth's creativity and top-notch musicianship are still in evidence.

 Mastering With Separations - Ideas
As technology marched forward in the 1960’s and 70’s, recording studios gained more and more tracks to record on and channels to mix with but the end result was still a final reduction to 2-track stereo tape to feed the 2-track vinyl mastering process.
Today, to record with audio technology that would have made engineers for The Beatles gently weep with sonic lust and track envy, all you need is...
All recording was done to tape with recorders having more than 2 or 3 tracks being very rare.

And before long an album, born by the love and joy of creating and sharing these times and music together, was complete.
Over the next few months, between both bands’ busy touring schedules, the three Nations collaborators got together, hung out and rejoiced in a musical endeavour that was free from the pressures and expectations of their main projects.
Nations By The River began in a derelict parking lot in Newcastle, during the Gelbison/The Sleepy Jackson tour of early 2003.

 the Picture Disc Website
This disc was manufactured by Music For Nations Records under license from Megaforce Records.
Followed by "Master of Puppets" in 1986 which is said to be Metallica's finest effort on vinyl.
Metallica later went on to write extremely complex music, which sold millions of copies without even the benefit of airtime.

MetalBite - Heavy Metal Webzine - News
ANATHEMA have set a June 28 release date through Music For Nations for their upcoming DVD, entitled "Were You There?".
The disc, which was recorded on January 31 at the "Krzemionki" TV studio in Cracow, Poland, will feature over an hour of live performance as well as backstage antics and tour diaries recorded by the band throughout their recent tours.
ANATHEMA guitarist Daniel "Danny" Cavanagh had previously stated this about the musical direction of the new album: "The [new] songs lend themselves to [a] simplified approach, being uncomplicated songs that get to the heart of the matter without having to go round the block to get there, if you see what I mean.

In other news, Music For Nations Records will release the band's first DVD, entitled Evolve, which features live footage shot at two different concerts—a September 1993 appearance at Stuttgart's Longhorn and a January 1998 gig at Shepherds Bush Empire in London—plus all the promo videos from the MFN years and some home movie footage.
Fear Factory, Frontline Assembly), the album will be recorded in the UK and Los Angeles and will reportedly mark "a real return to form for the band," according to an official press release.
Paradise Lost have signed a deal with G.U.N./ BMG Records, who will release the group's ninth studio album in the fall throughout the world, excluding North America, where the band have signed to Koch Entertainment.

 Godflesh--Crumbling Flesh
is back on a new label (Music For Nations/Koch Records) with a record of all-new material, a new band member (ex-Swans, ex-Prong Ted Parsons, who did live drums on the Songs of Love and Hate tour is now a full time 'member') and another progression in sound.
I think it's interesting that they're now on Music For Nations, because this new refinement of their sound may earn them an entirely new audience as this album makes its way into the hands of the stoners.
Broadrick has really made good progress vocally, and variety in his vocals is a high point of this disc; many of the tracks have clean (but unintelligible) vocals.

It's first releases were by Boo Hewerdine and The Revenants - the band formed by Stephen Ryan, frontman of cult 80's Rough Trade Records band, The Stars Of Heaven.
After ups and downs and a temporary shift in ownership for most of the late 90's, Rough Trade Records is again in Travis' hands and is as mercurial as ever.

Get Ready to ROCK! Interview with Geoff Gillespie of Majestic Rock record label
I went there and was soon in charge of labels like Roadrunner, Music For Nations, Neat records etc. The rest, as they say....
I was working for Our Price Records, and a mate of mine (George Michael's cousin, actually!) went to work at Pinnacle distributors, at the time the biggest independent distributor in the UK - still are, I think, and he called me and said 'they need someone who knows about rock over here'.
I later played bass in Snowblind, a British style AOR band who recorded a Friday Rock Show session and released an album through Mausoleum records.

 VRI: Opeth - Blackwater Park
His addition, both technically and musically has added further subtleties to Opeth's sound that began to take shape and mature with Still Life.
In conclusion, Opeth continues to impress with each successive release as they continue to evolve their signature brand of music.
The aural assault to your senses continues with "Bleak" as Akerfeldt's other-worldy presence is interweaved with a more ethereal musical sound as well as Steven Wilson's occasional softer vocals.

But we are very serious about the music we write and what we are playing.

Opeth - Lamentations DVD Review on Abrasive Rock.com The home of Metal, Punk, Industrial, Stoner Rock, Death Metal, Black Metal, & more!
The meat of the DVD is a live concert, recorded in England last year.
There is a magic that is very rare with live shows that Opeth is able to create night after night, and finally after seven studio albums and tons of bootleg CDs and videos, there is a proper DVD that really captures the essence of Opeth live.
It's fun to watch the songs being built in the studio, as well as hearing the bands comments about everything they went through during the recording process.

BBC - Norfolk Music - InMe get into Norwich
We were playing this show at a place called the Hope and Anchor in Islington and Music for Nations' A & R was there.
It would be nice but we're more into playing shows and writing the sort of music we want to write rather than gaining chart success.
She came down to see a band called Isn't but she caught the last two songs of our set list and liked what she heard but it was all because of Simon's broken cymbal - we had to delay our set by 10 minutes.

In the end of March another CD called "Turn" was completed.

We seem to understand what needs to be done and how to do it, and to that effect I can only say that if all goes to plan then this will be a good album that we can be proud to put our names to."
