 BLUES FACTS AND INFORMATION
Blues is a vocal and instrumental music form which emerged in the African-American community of the United_States.
One kind of early 1940s urban blues was the jump_blues, a style heavily influenced by big_band music and characterized by the use of the guitar in the rhythm section, a jazzy, up-tempo sound, declamatory vocals and the use of the saxophone or other brass_instruments.
Both recorded blues and country can be traced to the 1920s, when the popular record industry developed and created marketing categories called "race music" and "hillbilly music" to sell music by and for blacks and whites respectively.
