Kreator - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Kreator is a popular thrash metal band from Essen, Germany.
Incorporating industrial, goth and avante-gard elements into their sound, the results were uneven, with the exception of the 1997 release Outcast which was a brilliant modern metal work and arguably the band's finest achievement.
They differ from the Bay Area Thrashers by their brutality and speed.

The 2005 Kreator album, provocatively entitled Enemy Of God, is a maintain to the future album.
That is, the album follows the path of the band's last album, 2001's Violent Revolution, with a relentlessly aggressive and relevant body of music that nonetheless features enough innovation to both keep the band moving forward and the fan-base content.
That compilation is made so much more painful by the release of Past Life Trauma featuring music from the Kreator's heyday of the 80's when the band had not succumbed to 'progression' and slowed down to a crawl of pseudo industrial/hardcore irrelevance.

KREATOR are certainly a band that have pulled themselves back from the brink with releases of some less than stellar albums compared with classics such as “Extreme Aggression” and “Coma Of Souls”.
The riffs and harmonies on “Enemy Of God” are powerful and forceful as always on KREATOR’s classic albums and their previous effort “Violent Revolution”.
Additions of guest tracks by ARCH ENEMY’s axeman Amott add a real unique twist to the flavour and gives the album a non-chromatic solo compared to many of the regular Thrash solos you might hear on other albums.

As well as revitalizing the band's career the album clearly helped main man Mille Petrozza make peace with his past, and set the stage for his band's wisely retro-minded direction going forward into the new millennium.
