Keyboard instrument - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A keyboard instrument is any musical instrument played using a musical keyboard.
Professional electronic musical instruments which are traditionally equipped with a keyboard include electric pianos, electronic pianos, synthesizers, samplers, electronic organs, and digital pianos.
The electric piano and electronic piano were early efforts that, while being useful instruments in their own right, were not successful in convincingly reproducing the timbre of the piano.

Musical keyboard - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A musical keyboard is the set of adjacent depressible levers on a musical instrument which cause the instrument to produce sounds.
This extended the flexibility of the harpsichord, enabling composers to write keyboard music calling for harmonies containing the so-called wolf fifth E♭ to G♯, but without producing discomfort in the listeners.
There have been variations in the design of the keyboard to address technical and musical issues.

 Piano - infoweb
Piano is a common abbreviation for pianoforte, a musical instrument with a keyboard.
Others sought a keyboard instrument as powerful and as expressive as the violin.
Now that the piano had brought keyboard music out of the châteaux of the upper class and into popularity, the class of people interested in music began to grow, and more people began to pay to hear music for just one instrument (earlier composers had to write for several, always).

Clavichord Technique and Performance Practice: An Annotated Bibliography
Whereas in the case of early keyboard music it is possible (and advisable) for the clavichordist to use literature that is generally associated with the harpsichord, twentieth-century music represents the only case where trying to perform harpsichord music on clavichord would be inadvisable.
With the appendices (glossary, index of instrument makers, and music editions) and the bibliography, this should be one of the first sources to which one should refer for basic information on, music for, and literature about the clavichord.
The able clavichordist is advised to use this source to find music for performing the small repertory of twentieth-century clavichord music in addition to early keyboard music.

 What Are Historical Keyboard Instruments
are the tangent piano, an early rival of the hammered fortepiano; and the geigenwerk, which attempted to imitate the sound of the violin in a keyboard instrument using spinning, rosin-coated wheels.
While it is fine to play music of these composers on our modern piano or organ, it must be remembered that the resulting sound, as well as the technique used to produce it, will be different from what would have been experienced in the composer's own time.
