Johnny and Edgar -- best known for Edgar's classic '60s rock hits such as "Frankenstein" and "Free Ride" and Johnny's album "First Winter" -- regularly send their father CDs of their music.

When Johnny Winter arrived in New York City in 1968 Rolling Stone described him as “a cross-eyed albino with long fleecy hair, who plays some of the gutsiest fluid blues guitar you’ve ever heard.” Thirty five years later this is still true.
The raw energy of Winter’s music compensated for the diminished voice of the former blues powerhouse and showed that he still possesses the passion necessary to play the blues.

About Blues (Janus, 1971), Before The Storm (Janus, 1971), First Winter (Buddha), Birds Can't Row Boats (Relix, 1988), Suicide Won't Satisfy (2001).
