Jay Z blesses us with the best song on this CD by Track 3, in my opinion.
Jay Z brings the lyrics and you have what should be the 3rd single if Jay Z does release another single.
On "99 Problems", Jay Z employs Rick Rubin to produce the track and the song sounds just like something Rick would have produced on The Beastie Boys' "Licensed To Ill" album.

 Amazon.com: The Blueprint: Music: Jay-Z
After one listen, you can tell that Jay Z was looking for a more soulful sound on this CD.
This song is one of the best tracks that Jay Z has ever made.
The Blueprint may be Jay Z's most captivating record since Reasonable Doubt, but its predictably detached mood reflects the master hustler's superior ability to trick out lackluster subject matter with lyrical complexity and brief flashes of manufactured introspection.

Jay-Z's final album is his most professional yet. By Sasha Frere-Jones
And the biggest sales of Jay's career are stranded back in 1998, when a producer named DJ Mark the 45 King used a big sample of the song "It's the Hard-Knock Life" from the score for the 1977 musical Annie.
His most recent album, The Blueprint 2: The Gift and Curse (2002) was a bloated double CD that suggested Jay's professionalism was taking precedence over his song-writing.
There were two rumored organizing principles behind The Black Album: Revive the gritty, emotional lyrics of Jay-Z's highly respected 1996 debut Reasonable Doubt and solicit a beat from every great producer Jay-Z has worked with.

Jay-Z: The Black Album: Pitchfork Review
Or maybe it's not: Jay has cut an album every year for the past seven years; that he'd want a break of some sort now is understandable.
Throughout the sentimental closer, Jay keeps his chin up and makes the song cry with emotive, bolero-tinged production from the previously unknown team of Aqua and Joe "3H" Weinberger.
And unlike any other track on this record, it can be said that Jay's vocals matter little.

 Jay-Z: The Blueprint: Pitchfork Review
As for the rest, well, there's nothing really awful (the cringeworthy track or two that seems to lurk at the end of every Jay-Z album is notably absent), but there's nothing really shocking, either.
I shouldn't have to mention the brilliant rhymes, but (surprisingly, after a few bombs on the d12 album) it's almost ridiculous how good Eminem's beat is-- strings, synth and "Good Vibrations"-style theremin tones roll easy like 1987.
The unexpected flourishes are subtly beneficial, like the fanfare that sneaks in at the end of "All I Need," or the incredible clap-clap break of "Heart of the City." Retro soul samples are dull white, picked clean of lint and sanitized.

The collaboration proved to be an instant smash at radio and retail and re-established Jay - Z as a lyrical genius, better known to many as, "The King of New York.” "In My Lifetime was very emotional to me because there were a lot of things going on at that time," explains Jay-Z. "That album.
After the deaths of Biggie and Pac the rap world was looking for a star to call it's own, That year J.I.G.G.A. was born.

Amazon.co.uk: The Black Album [Explicit Lyrics]: Music
this album is in my opinion jay zs 3rd best album to date, there is great production from just blaze, kanyewest, 9th wonder.
There is not a skippable track on it and it has some radio friendly songs and some meaningful songs and at the same time keeps it 'street' there are some great lyriscism and unbelievably good one liners, buy this now if you like good modern rap, here are some good lines off it
However, all the songs are good, from the un-relenting 'Threat', to the Timbaland produced 'Dirt of Your Shoulder' with the only slightly wek songs being 'Change Clothes' (it's this kind of song which gets Jay slagged by hardcore rap fans) and 'Lucifer'.

And Jay-Z has had his share of battles in and away from the recording studio, where he has responded to lyrical attacks by reputed rhymer Nas and Prodigy of Mobb Deep with the witticism and mic stealth associated with the Jiggaman.
Although Nas did seem to get the better of Jay from a lyrical standpoint, you can expect a devastating response on the sequel to the smash LP The Blueprint.
Nas can claim to be the thug street poet extraordinaire but when it comes to selling records, churning out blazing club hits and making mad cheddar, H to the Izzo is the man.
