God Hates Us All - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
God Hates Us All (2001) is the 10th full-length album by Slayer.
Kerry King has stated that the title "God Hates Us All" is a reference to having a bad day, one where you feel like God hates you. This is also the first album on which the band have used seven string guitars, on the track "Warzone".
The album was recorded in The Warehouse, a Vancouver-based studio owned by Bryan Adams, a longtime Slayer-fan.

For the old die-hards that were put off by 'Diabolus', give 'God Hates Us All' a chance and on one listen, you'll be glad you did.
It often sounds like a cacophonous blur, the sort of aural barrage that leaves your ears ringing at the album's finally concluding moment if you can endure the entire album in one listen, of course.
Playing to the band's honed-to-a-science strengths and hearkening back to the golden age of mullet heads, God Hates Us All is Slayer's most brutal record since 1986's immortal (or undead) Reign in Blood.

On 'God Hates Us All' is a very different Slayer to that of 20 years ago and a 'Reign in Blood' or 'Seasons in the Abyss' it is not - musically those albums were mind-blowing and showed great musicianship.
'God Hates Us All' is the follow up to Slayer's last album 'Diabolus In Musica' which was released in 1998.

Amazon.com: God Hates Us All (Limited Edition): Music
Some of their previous albums such as Reign in Blood and South of Heaven are classics in the genre, God Hates Us All approaches the magnificence of those albums and certainly surpasses them in intensity if not originality.
While GHUA is not as groundbreaking or genre defining as Slayers classic works, it is a great brutal album and the strongest offering from Slayer since South of Heaven.
played back to back, Diabolus and God Hates Us All sound almost like one double album.) This is a VERY strong album indeed, with some occasional emphasis on groove rather than sheer bludgeoning.

Well, God may hate us all (an opinion that was strengthened by the fact that only a few hours after the album's release, terrorists decided to fly planes into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Centre), but if he has any taste in music, he'll LOVE this...
The outer packaging hides the actual cover of this record, but those who buy the record will find that Slayer is not sheepish in their apparent hatred for religion.

Slayer - God Hates Us All
God may indeed hate us all but he surely has a special hatred for SLAYER after this album.
The first two tracks especially still have enough classic SLAYER feel in them to please those of us who dreaded the day the band would blow it like the way they have on the majority of this album.
The album is not a complete disaster and has some admittedly dark moments but from a career perspective, SLAYER have hit their lowest point ever.

"God Hates us All" is possibly the angriest Slayer album ever.
News snippets added that the band would be going more kindof back to their "South of Heaven" style roots, which practically made the fans froth at the mouth.
"God Hates us All" has been released now, finally.

This is not your typical toned-down metal band, Slayer play by the old school ethic of fist-in-your-mouth metal, so if dental bills don't appeal to you this might not be the record for you.
But if you are part of the toothless masses that this brand of metal appeals to, you will no doubt be thrilled by tracks like "Bloodline," "Disciple" or the whole record in general.

But all said and done, there is not one shite track on this disc.
Not in along time have I heard a song that was so angry and hate fuelled with Kerry King penning some of his most savage lyrics to date.
This album is vicious, it's more dark and sinister than the previous 3 albums and will have listeners screaming and begging for mercy as it rips them limb from limb, before finally burrowing deep inside and exploding, splattering speakers everywhere with blood and gore!!

Slayer: God Hates Us All - PopMatters Music Review
The best songs on God Hates Us All -- and despite the above quips, there are differences between the thirteen tracks collected here -- stoke a burning fury that's utterly convincing and, as such, occasionally terrifying.
This isn't war between nation-states but between personalities, as Nietzscheian self-empowerment turns to aggression in the throat-shredding vocals of singer Tom Araya: "This ain't about me / I'm better than you'll ever be /.
Death and contagion, torture and hopelessness permeate the album like the plague in a medieval city, as sentiments like "You make me want to slit my own fucking throat" hurl themselves into the void.

This is the fastest, heaviest and just plain nastiest Slayer in a while, making their previous record "Diabolus In Musica" sound fairly tepid.
They have yet to equal that classic, but "God Hates Us All" gives it a good run for its money.
