In 1941, Frankie "Musclehead" Manning was featured in a Life magazine article that chronicled the evolution of the Lindy.
Also in 1989, Frankie received a Tony Award for Best Choreography in the Broadway hit musical BLACK AND BLUE.

Manning was profiled on the ABC prime-time news program, "20/20"; he received a Tony Award for best choreography in the Broadway hit musical "Black and Blue"; and choreographed "Stompin' at the Savoy," an NBC made-for-television movie directed by Debbie Allen.
Manning spent much of his youth listening to the jam sessions of Tommy Dorsey, Coleman Hawkins, Benny Goodman and Count Basie.
"Don't think about getting old," said energetic, 80-year-old dancer Frankie Manning, who effortlessly demonstrated the "Lindy Hop" and other dance styles, including tap and swing, to an overflow audience in the Mumford Room on May 17.

Most of the songs on this CD are danceable, easy swinging tunes between 150 and 175 BPM (not that the man couldn't dance at ANY tempo), and Frankie Manning likes dancing to swing, not bebop.
I think that if Frankie Manning had his way with an unlimited library, those tunes would be replaced by cuts from Chick Webb, but who's to complain?
One nice feature of the CD is the listing on the back of the bpm (beats per minute) for each tune.
