Diana is working on her next album which is scheduled for a fall 2006 release.
Diana expanded her versatility during this period by both recording a live opera album (with Plácido Domingo and José Carreras) and a live jazz album.
Ross worked on a full album of jazz tunes and standards but the album, titled "The Blue Album", was in shelves for three decades.

Ross moved to a solo career and for two decades has continued to produce an endless stream of number one records and sell-out world concerts.

Clearly the platinum success of the album was due in part to her previous string of hits, but overall the album is a bit too glossy and Diana should have shared production duties with an experienced producer for her first effort.

This was followed by a duet album with Marvin Gaye, Diana & Marvin (October 1973), that produced three chart hits.
By 1989, she had returned to Motown, and by 1993 was turning more to pop standards, notably on the concert album Diana Ross Live: The Lady Sings...Jazz & Blues, Stolen Moments (April 1993).

Diana Ross & The Supremes - Classic Motown
Diana Ross and the Supremes' hits turned out to be both timely and timeless: the rhythm and drama of "You Keep Me Hangin' On" predicted disco's hyperactivity, while "Reflections" and "Love Child" responded to shifting musical and social trends, but maintained the emotional immediacy of the first Supremes hits.
It also made Diana Ross and the Supremes' body of work an absolute amazement of riches: it's hard, without the charts in front of you, to recall which were No. 1's and which weren't, since they all sound like No 1's in retrospect.
The sound was so refreshing, the look so flawless, and the vibe so compelling that Diana Ross and the Supremes became no less than a defining reference point for America, for admiring musicians and fans worldwide, and for successive generations of female pop artists.

Diana Ross and The Supremes gave their final performance together on January 14, 1970 at the Frontier Hotel in Las Vegas; a live recording of the performance was released later that year in a double-LP box set entitled Farewell.
Also, unlike many of her contemporaries, Diana Ross sung in a thin, calm voice, and her vocal styling was matched by having the girls embellish their own femininity instead of imitating the qualities of male groups.
After the Frontier Hotel performance, Ross went on to record her debut solo album, Diana Ross, and Mary Wilson and Cindy Birdsong continued working with Jean Terrell on the first post-Ross Supremes album, Right On.
