Mason provides the rhythm section on a 12-string acoustic guitar, defering all the leads to Krueger on a 6-string acoustic.
Mason is in fine voice, and these songs remain as vibrant as when they were originally released, even if they weren't being fully appreciated for what they were in 1981.
Other Mason staples such as 'Let It Go, Let It Flow' (charting at #45 in 1977), and two songs from his 1974 'Dave Mason' LP, the first to feature Krueger, 'Every Woman' and the Sam Cooke classic 'Bring It On Home To Me', are given sturdy renditions.

In the eighties, Dave did beer ads for Miller as well as acoustic tours with Jim Krueger (the writer of his hit single "We Just Disagree.") Dave later stopped touring altogether and went into seclusion at his friend's guesthouse-- that friend was Mick Fleetwood.
Dave then did a short stint with Traffic, and started working on another album.
He enjoyed only one major hit, and after seven years and seven albums, he called it quits with the Columbia record label.

DVD.net : Dave Mason - Live at Sunrise - DVD Review
Dave Mason's guitar solos are placed all along the front sound wall and the whole show has been mixed in such a way that the instruments and vocals very much ‘weave’ in and out of each other, rather than being spaced out.
The musicianship is not in question from the opening chord, the vocals are great from both Mason and there are plenty of tight harmonies from the band.
After leaving Traffic, the young Mason traveled to the USA and recorded the first of many solo albums, Alone Together, which, like the next three, achieved gold status.

Standing on their own, the lyrics are Mason's bleakest: "After you've gone I'll die some/ After you've gone I'll feel blue.../ Night-time appears like a hole in the sky/ Follow me down to my room." Mason has set these lyrics to one of his most childlike melodies, and given it all a music-box sound.

Dave Mason Band, 17 February 1993, Rack N' Roll, Colorado Springs, CO
One other distracting habit of this musician is his unbendable choice to tune his guitars by himself between songs--this 1-2 minute melancholic pause between tracks kills a lot of the excitement of this performer, and is about as annoying as a live CD put on shuffle play.
Dave stepped onto the stage with a jet-black acoustic 6-string in standard tuning, spent about a minute to check out his instrument, and started his four-piece band into "World In Changes".
Dave then took out a 12-string guitar that, visibly, seemed indistinguishable from the previous guitar, to begin performing, "Can't Stop Worryin', Can't Stop Lovin'".
