Cozy along with Neil Murray (fellow ex-member of Cozy Powell's Hammer, Whitesnake and Black Sabbath) were members of the Brian May Band, playing on the Back To The Light and Another World albums.
In October of 2005, Cozy made a "new" appearance on an album.
Countless rock-based drummers have cited Cozy Powell as an influence.

With Cozy's solid way of playing the band regained it's massive sound, Martin was maybe the best choice for the epic-style songs, as his voice has this amazing epic tone, while Geoff Nichols' keyboards, although discreet, add depth to the songs.
Cozy's play is majestic giving a massive sound to the songs.
This is Cozy's second personal album, and I think the best one he produced under his name.

Cozy had laid down the track and promptly forgotten all about it until he heard it played on the radio.
It's significant that only the instrumental tracks were included on the 1997 CD compilation The Best of Cozy Powell, and indeed Cozy's next album did not feature a singer.
The final recording Cozy was involved with before his sudden death was Colin Blunstone's solo album The Light Inside.

By 1985, Powell was a free agent again, part of a coterie of drummers who guested on Roger Daltrey's excellent Under a Raging Moon (a tribute to the unique style of the late Who drummer Keith Moon).
The Rak Records supremo noticed Cozy Powell's impressive, thundering playing which wasn't dissimilar to the sound Most had fashioned for the glitter rock queen Suzi Quatro.
Powell started out in the Sixties with bands like the Sorcerers, Ace Kefford Stand and Big Bertha, with whom he developed a fearsome reputation.

Cozy Cole (October 19, 1909 – January 31, 1981) is a well known jazz drummer who had a #1 hit with the song "Topsy part 2".
The song was a drum solo, and one of the few drum solo recordings that ever made the popular Billboard top 100 (1958) charts.
He is cited as an influence by many contemporary rock drummers, including Cozy Powell, who admiringly named himself after Cole.

If you know your drummers ear and trivia and you can name a few and do not know or don’t realize that Cozy is there, no matter what, I guarantee you will know which one is his solo.
One of the greatest drumming records he collaborated on was in 1991.
After Rainbow broke up, he joined Robert Plant for a while, played with Michael Schenker, Whitesnake (for 1 album in 1984) and played on the all star (guy) drum jam “Under A Raging Moon” by Roger Daltry.

Six days before the actual event took place, it was announced that Brian May would be on the guest-list for the Cozy Powell tribute concert.
It was so wonderful to see him and the nearly complete Brian May Band again for the first time after my "little" European tour back in 1998.
Every artist gave his or her very best for Cozy, with songs, which have been either performed with Cozy, which were written for him, or which fitted very well.
