It was announced in April of 2005 that Canty would be the drummer for the fall 2005 tour in support of the album.

Canty also appears on Bob Mould's 2005 Album Body of Song.
Fugazi is a rock music group from Washington, D.C., formed in 1987 (see 1987 in music).
After the seminal hardcore punk group Minor Threat dissolved, Ian MacKaye (vocals and guitar) was active with a few mostly short-lived groups, (notably early emo-core band, Embrace) before forming a new trio, Fugazi, with drummer Brendan Canty (of Rites of Spring) and bass guitarist Joe Lally.

Between the percussive expressiveness of Brendan Canty (joined by longtime roadie Jerry Busher on second drums and extra percussion for several tracks) and the imaginative guitars of Ian MacKaye and Guy Picciotto, The Argument is a vibrant, dynamic record that transcends all forms of modern rock music.
Naturally, I have to run Brendan Canty's drumming up a flagpole and salute because his stunning talent continually impresses me. In on the Kill Taker seems to be a somewhat overlooked Fugazi album but rest assured it is certainly one of their most fulfilling pieces of work.
But on songs like the title track, the band veers into new territory, using feedback to warp the music.

Sticking to the folkie-grrrl stylings found on her K Records albums, released simply under the name Lois, Maffeo's partnership with Canty finds the songwriter's fare finding broader themes as well as new wrinkles, giving her acoustic strumming and smoky voice their most impact to date.
On her self-described first "100-spercent fictional album," Maffeo's knack for fly-paper catchy vocal melodies finally has something solid to stick to.
