This album is a far better mix of the two styles of Chris Squire and Billy Sherwood and as such is perhaps more representative of the duo that the previous album which unsurprisingly sounded not unlike the Yes album Open Your Eyes.
It is hoped that this album gets more attention than the previous album which despite being a strong offering was released at almost the same time as the Yes album The Ladder and as such suffered accordingly.

However, one performance from that tour was immortalized in the House of Yes: Live From the House of Blues CD and video.

Notes: The second album from Chris Squire and Billy Sherwood under the name Conspiracy, The Unknown is a concept album around the events of September 11 and their aftermath, the lyrics representing a marked shift compared to the pacific tone of prior Sherwood or Squire-penned words.

Sherwood's guitar work is stale and hollow sounding.
Most of these songs are turgid mid-tempo pop-rock numbers, with the less-than-stellar vocal harmonizing of Squire and Sherwood being the acid frosting on the tasteless cake.
Most of these are as good or better than the Yes tracks: "Love Conquers All" is more upbeat and better sung by Sherwood than the Trevor Rabin- sung outtake from the "Union" album; nothing can save Squire's lyrics from the most despised "OYE" song "Man in the Moon", but the vocals are good.
