ARDOIN, Amad‚ : MusicWeb Encyclopaedia of Popular Music
His colour was evidently no hindrance to entertaining white audiences; he was a gifted musician, adept at spontaneously improvising songs and lyrics, very much with a blues heart yet in the Cajun idiom, drawing on African songs and hollers as well as trad.
some Ardoin accompaniment; also I'm Never Comin' Back on Folklyric CD, '30--34 tracks with McGee.
He and McGee were popular around Eunice, recorded independently and together late '20s/early '30s; pieces from Ardoin's repertoire incl.

A Brief History of Cajun, Creole, and Zydeco Music
He also listened to recordings from a decade earlier by Amédé Ardoin and to musicians who played the blues.
Often, there might be only one musician, like the legendary Amédé Ardoin, who exerted a major influence on the development of both Creole and Cajun music.
By the 1920s, with the development of the recording industry and of radio, both Cajun and Creole musicians were exposed to other music from outside Louisiana, and they also had their first opportunities to make their own recordings.

Those of us who know and love Zydeco give credit where it is due to both of you when you were together and to each of you in your own bands.
This reply is to zydescience who is wondering how we are going to perform as the Ardoin family in Ft. Lauderdale if we are so bitter?
I also changed the name of the band to Chris Ardoin and NuStep to rid myself of all mess and start over just me and the band which you can read about on the website:chrisardoin.com

SEAN ARDOIN & ZYDEKOOL - Conshohocken, PA (8/20/04)
Unfortunately, since I am not familiar with any of Sean's work and did not see a song set list, I cannot mention song titles....but most of the stuff is on the newest Zydekool release "Strictly For The Dancers".
At 8:45pm, the fun began with the New Orleans zydeco sound of Sean Ardoin & Zydekool.
From the start of the show, almost everyone was up on the floor, dancing to the hot zydeco rhythms of the funky accordion man & lead vocalist, Sean Ardoin, who (by the way) spent most of his time walking through the crowd (something I've never seen by any artist)!!

Travis Matte plays excellent fiddle and steel guitar lends nice variety on many numbers.
Watch for more on that from R'N'B next year as they book their fall schedule.
This Fest was a great time both years I have gone and provides a nice boost in spirits as daylight dwindles and the cold months begin.
