Roger Meddows-Taylor - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
He contributed songs to the band's albums from the very beginning, composing at least one track on every album, and usually sang the lead on his own tracks, in addition to playing most of the instruments, including guitar and bass parts.
He released several solo albums and even formed a separate group in the 1980s, The Cross.
He started this band by putting an anonymous advertisement in the newspaper hinting that he was from a famous rock band and that he was seeking other musicians.

This is the first Queen album that I ever bought (and the first Queen album in their discography that I used to listen to frequently).
I suppose the trouble of reviewing an album that I listened to so consistently three years ago is that I still remember which songs I used to loathe (I seriously would have given this a 2/10).
Certainly my second favorite song from the album.

Queen A Night at the Opera 24K re-issue
The re-release of A Night at the Opera is a must-have for hardcore Queen fans, as the songs sound amazing and full of a new sense of depth and clarity that the original release on CD does not quite capture.
Created as a concept album, from the liner notes listing the members of Queen as the "Cast" to ending with a multi-guitar orchestrated version of "God Save the Queen," the biggest problem with this album is the fact that it really doesn’t tell a story.
The songs that rock on the album, including the opener "Death on Two Legs (Dedicated to…)," "Good Company" and "Bohemian Rhapsody," are what I like to hear when listening to a Queen album.

The album is an example of the perfect metal album; there isn't a flaw on the damn thing.
The album radiates the best songwriting from any band in years, as well as incredibly composed musical scores and perfect, melodic, soaring vocal sections.
With the album's final track, "...And Then There Was Silence", Blind Guardian redefines the word "epic".

Other tracks on the album were more complicated.
The main thing was that everything from the original release was clearly on the tape and in the first playback it sounds remarkably like the mixed single, except for the three alternative lead vocals.
However, the only sign of the a cappella vocal section in the middle was a tantalising 16-part track sheet which fell out of one of the 24-track boxes.

Queen - A Night At The Opera - Grading The Movies Music & Games
Perhaps the album's best-known track is its smash hit, Bohemian Rhapsody--a Freddie Mercury composition that made a comeback appearance on the charts in 1992, thanks to its inclusion on the Wayne's World soundtrack.
Looking back on the lengthy career of an artist or group, there always seems to be one particular album that can be declared as their most influential and groundbreaking piece of work.
In the case of Queen (John Deacon, Roger Taylor, Brian May, and the late Freddie Mercury), the general consensus points to A Night At The Opera--originally released on vinyl back in 1975 and currently available on digitally re-mastered CD.

This album is terrific; together with "Sheer Heart Attack" the two are I think the finest of all Queen albums.

InternetEd Reviews: Queen- A Night At The Opera
Amazingly, the album comes across as a focused and cohesive assortment of songs, despite the traces of '50's rock, Broadway pomp, and metal guitar riffing.
Most of this album's notoriety is due to the pompous but loveable "Bohemian Rhapsody," which was given a second chance at chart-topping life thanks to the Wayne's World movie.
A Night At The Opera offers a few other impressive songs on it besides "Bohemian Rhapsody" that cover all sorts of musical genres.

This time, more than ever, the record is preceded by a big fuss over technical aspects such as the amount of tracks used in the production or the fact that it took two years to write and record the songs for this album.
One thing you can be sure of is that the release of a new Blind Guardian album will stir the metal scene in Germany.
If Blind Guardian should move on in extending the duration of their songs they should consider moving on from the epic metal genre, create the "metal musical" genre and ask someone to produce a Blind Guardian musical.
