<<b>bb>>Singb>bb>> the Sorrow is an appropriate title for the album, since AFI does mostly that.
However, <<b>bb>>Singb>bb>> the Sorrow is still a very good album, and definitely one of their stronger releases.
They've moved from humor to sorrow and darkness, from a normal look to a misfits-esque presence, and from an indie label to a major label.

<<b>bb>>Singb>bb>> the Sorrow was the album that got me into AFI, it may not be a great one to start with, since it doesn't really sound like AFI's old CDs, but it's definitly my favourite one.
The newest AFI album "<<b>bb>>Singb>bb>> the Sorrow" starts with the intro song "Miseria Cantare - The Beginning", which is a sort of chanting song like "Strenght through wounding", and is very atmospheric.

Guide Introduction: The Paul Robeson Collection
Two albums of his songs were released under this label, Paul Robeson Sings (1952) and Solid Rock (1953).
Although he never received any formal training in singing, Robeson was imbued with the "music of his people" from his early childhood in the small Presbyterian and African Methodist Episcopal Zion churches where his father served as a minister in the New Jersey towns of Princeton, Westfield, and Sommerville.
Material related to the Othello Recording Corporation and Robeson's participation in the production of the film Song of the Rivers can be found at the end of the years 1952 and 1953.

It ends with the life affirming chant "<<b>bb>>singb>bb>> it loud/<<b>bb>>singb>bb>> it proud/I will be heard/I will be found".
The lyric concerns Paul Robeson, black actor/singer and political activist, persecuted for communist sympathies in the 50s ("the CIA say you're the guilty man/will we see the likes of you again?").
If it is, let’s hope that the last one is better than this; it's not a bad album, it's just that it's difficult not to feel let down by one too many underdeveloped punk songs and lacklustre lyrics, especially in amongst some great songs that show just how good the Manics can be.

The ballad "Let Robeson <<b>bb>>Singb>bb>>," while flirting with parody in its brazen, throaty admiration, positively drips with honesty, cutting closer to the heart of the band's politics than any other song on the album.
The excellent trio of "Let Robeson <<b>bb>>Singb>bb>>," "The Year of Purification," and "Wattsville Blues" follows two songs later.
Some of the more interesting tracks paste together a number of styles: "Wattsville Blues," with its collage of drum machines, acoustic guitars, organs, and Fall-ish speak-singing, finds the band wearing their influences as prominently and distinctly as their varied politics.
